A red woodland squirrel poised behind the frame of a tripod with both paws on the camera, ready to snap the perfect shot.
The bushy-tailed critter perched behind the camera lens has an intense concentration expression and appears to be photographing a blue tit bird.
Photographer Vadim Trunov captured the lovely images in a woodland in the Voronezh area of western Russia after waiting many days for the ideal shot.
‘There were numerous birds, which increased the prospect of having a good moment,’ said the 31-year-old photographer. The squirrel was near the camera, hunting for nuts. I photographed animals and birds at the right time and in the right place.
‘To picture interesting points, I had to wait a long time.’ It takes many days.’
