A HUNCHBACK dog who found internet fame after being rescued from the street has found a loving new home. Four-year-old Quasimodo is believed to be one of just 15 dogs worldwide living with short-spine syndrome.
Only 15 of this one-of-a-kind puppies exist in the world. On the other hand, his mother would definitely say that no one else compares to him.
Short-spine syndrome is an uncommon illness that affects this wonderful pet. His mother notes, “He’s a genuine German Shepherd… but shorter.”
He was found as a stray dog in Kentucky. Quasi was frightened of people and was quite shy. But it wasn’t until he met Rachel, a kind human, that his full self emerged.
He’s enjoying himself these days, running about in the snow, playing with his buddies, and chasing female dogs (apparently, he’s quite the ladies’ man!).
Quasimodo’s human established Secondhand Hounds, a non-profit that rescues hundreds of animals each year, and he gets all of the care and attention he needs there.
He has to do things a little differently than other dogs, like eat his food without bending down, but he’s now a happy, carefree dog with fans all around the world, including us!
