In Cannon Beach, people are banding together to look for a husky who mysteriously disappeared

Cannon Beach, Ore. (KPTV) —Residents in the Cannon Beach area are banding together to assist in the hunt for a husky that went missing on Saturday.

Uni, a husky, went missing on June 11 while walking along the Indian Beach Trail in Ecola State Park. Uni’s owner said that after hiking to Indian Beach, they turned around and returned to the parking area. Around 10:30 a.m., they lost sight of Uni about halfway down the trail.

This is not a typical dog. About 3,500 people follow Uni on Instagram, and many of them have told other people about her absence.

Park rangers, Clatsop County Search & Rescue, and the Cannon Beach Rural Fire Protection District have been assisting with the search. To follow Uni’s smell, a drone was flown along the cliffside and a K9 SAR was employed. However, no evidence of Uni has been discovered.

Uni’s owners are concerned that someone may have sto.len her during a weekend of heavy activity on the trails.

Uni is regarded as a nice dog that enjoys eating. If you come into contact with her, her owners ask that you quietly tempt her with food or call the owner at 419-787-8331.

As the hunt for Uni continues, a Facebook page has been created, which may be seen here.
