“‘One in a million’: The most extraordinary twins in the world were born to a British family.”

The Bailey family eagerly anticipated the arrival of their twin girls, born to 32-year-old parents Nikola and Todd.

The twins are unique, with one in a million odds: Harper was born with Down syndrome, while her sister Quinn was not.

Surprisingly, no abnormalities were detected during Nikola’s pregnancy, and Harper, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, arrived nearly 40 minutes before her sister.

When doctors saw Harper, they immediately apologized for not detecting the condition earlier.

Despite the unexpected diagnosis, Nikola’s heart melted when she saw her daughters, describing them as wonderful. Harper and Quinn share a close bond, with Quinn already feeling a bit envious of Harper’s more developed hair and earlier smiles.

Harper, like many children with Down syndrome, has a heart condition and will need surgery at six years old. Despite their differences, Nikola loves her daughters equally.

However, she notes that people often react warily to Harper due to her condition.

The girls also have an older brother, Lucas, who was excited to welcome them into the family. In the UK, about 40,000 people have Down syndrome, but it is incredibly rare for one twin to be born with the condition.
