“Jeopardy!” fans are furious after all three contestants were stumped by a question about the prayer…

“Jeopardy!” is widely regarded as the most popular game show on television, known for its challenging questions that test even the sharpest minds. Recently, viewers were stunned when all three contestants failed to answer a seemingly simple clue about the Lord’s Prayer.

On a June 13 episode, host Mayim Bialik read a $200 clue in the “Dadjectives” category: “This ‘Be Thy Name,’ Our Father Who Art in Heaven,” from Matthew 6:9. The expected response was “hallowed” (or “what is hallowed,” according to the show’s rules), a term many learn in Sunday school.

The contestants’ failure to recognize such a well-known prayer left many, especially those of faith, astonished. Reactions on Twitter ranged from disbelief to concern about the contestants’ unfamiliarity, with some comparing it to not knowing the Pledge of Allegiance.

While some interpreted this as a sign of declining religious awareness, others were simply surprised. One user noted that even as an atheist, they knew the answer, while another mentioned that their young niece got it right.

In the end, the contestants performed better on a Final Jeopardy question about 1970s films, successfully identifying John Travolta. However, their earlier struggle raised questions about their backgrounds and familiarity with Christian teachings.

What do you think about this situation? Did the contestants really not recognize the Lord’s Prayer? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
