Kirk Cameron has announced his departure from California, joining the growing list of celebrities leaving the state.
The *Growing Pains* actor shared his plans to relocate on Wednesday, citing California’s trend toward increasing division and polarization as a key factor in his decision.

Cameron, a father of six, has moved to Tennessee, where three of his adult children already live. He expressed his desire for a location that embraces a “healthy freedom mindset.”
In an interview with the Washington Examiner, he stated, “If everything hits the fan and there’s some serious economic problems and division, they want to be around people who value God, family, and country. It’s a really nice place to be.”
He also noted the surprising number of “California refugees” now residing in Tennessee. “It’s shocking how many Californians are here. When I see them in the grocery store, I tell them, ‘Don’t California our Tennessee,’” he commented.

Much like his sister, Candace Cameron Bure, Cameron believes many have left California seeking safety and security.
He argues that while Tennessee has attracted many former Californians, its “good wholesome values and, equally important, good whiskey” make it an appealing place to call home.
