Kate Winslet Unveils Unexpected Details About the Notorious ‘Titanic’ Door Scene…

Over 25 years after *Titanic* debuted, Kate Winslet is revealing secrets about the iconic door scene.

While promoting her new film *Lee*, she discussed the film’s dramatic moments, where Jack Dawson, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and her character, Rose, fight for survival in freezing Atlantic waters.

“That tank was quite awkward,” Winslet admitted. “To burst the bubble, it was only waist deep… and Leo was kneeling.” She explained that every time she needed a break, she had to climb off the door and navigate to the edge of the tank, which was cumbersome.

Despite its dimensions, Winslet praised the tank as “amazing” for its infinity pool design, allowing the continuous sound of cascading water. She noted that during the film’s last 22 minutes, everyone was “entirely looped” in.

Fans have long debated whether both characters could have fit on the door. In 2012, *Mythbusters* found it plausible, but James Cameron emphasized that Jack’s de. ath was crucial to the story. Winslet later added, “He could have fit on that door, but it wouldn’t have stayed afloat.”
