Recently, a Florida resident named Tianna witnessed a touching moment involving a policewoman.
Last week, while parked near a Dunkin’ Donuts in Ocala, she noticed a police officer sitting on the curb beside a homeless man.
Tianna later discovered that Sergeant Erica Hay had taken a moment that morning to buy food for the man in need.
“I was heading to the café for breakfast when I saw him sitting alone, so I decided to buy him breakfast as well,” she shared.
However, Hay didn’t just hand over the food; she chose to sit down and share the meal with him.
Moved by the scene, Tianna quickly took some photos and shared them on Facebook, which led to the police department where Erica works sharing the story as well.
“I was the only witness to her kindness at that early hour,” Tianna wrote.
The story quickly spread across various platforms, garnering hundreds of responses. Meanwhile, the modest Sergeant Erica Hay was genuinely taken aback by the attention from social media and the press.
Erica stated that she didn’t view her actions as extraordinary, as she regularly encounters people in need.
She added, “The homeless man turned out to be a really good person who had experienced unfortunate circumstances. He’s no different from anyone else; he just found himself on the streets due to fate.”
