Beyoncé, a symbol of femininity and glamour, recently shared with “Essence” magazine that she has been battling a health issue since childhood that could have affected her self-confidence.
For the first time, the singer opened up about how her father helped treat her condition.
In an interview with *Essence* on February 17, 2024, while promoting her hair care brand Cecred, Beyoncé revealed that she has struggled with psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin disease.
This condition causes red, flaky patches on the skin due to an accelerated renewal process, especially in those with a genetic predisposition. Despite her beautiful, flowing hair, she has faced challenges because of this illness.
While discussing the significance of hair in femininity and her brand launch, Beyoncé reflected on the special moments related to her hair care.
She fondly remembered spending time in her mother’s hair salon and how her father would apply oil to her scalp to ease her psoriasis. She described these experiences as “sacred moments” in her life.
On the music front, Beyoncé continues to make waves with her latest song, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” This track has made her the first Black woman to top the country music charts, a significant achievement in a genre historically dominated by white artists.
