John Travolta’s rise to international fame began with the success of *Saturday Night Fever* (1977), and his popularity skyrocketed further after starring in *Grease*.
Born in New Jersey in 1954, John was the youngest of six children. Early on, he knew acting was his passion, so he dropped out of high school to focus on his career. Looking back, he believes it was the best decision he could have made, despite the risks.
Over the years, John has appeared in many films, including *Gotti* (2018), *Two of a Kind* (1983), *Pulp Fiction* (1994), *Get Shorty* (1995) – for which he won a Golden Globe – *Broken Arrow* (1996), and *Wild Hogs* (2007).
In 1991, he married actress Kelly Preston, whom he had met while she was still married. Kelly later revealed in 2018 that she hadn’t been happy in her previous marriage, which wasn’t the right fit for her. Sadly, Kelly passed away from breast cancer in July 2020 after nearly 30 years together.
The couple had three children: Jett, born in 1992; Ella Bleu, born in 2000; and Benjamin, born in 2010. Tragically, Jett passed away in 2009 due to seizures related to autism. John was devastated and had to focus on getting healthy to be there for his other children.
Ella, like her parents, pursued acting. She often shares how grateful she is for their guidance. After Kelly’s passing, Ella wrote heartfelt messages to her mom, expressing how much she loved and admired her.
John and Ella share a close bond, and he frequently expresses his pride in her, sharing their special moments, like when they danced together in honor of Kelly. Their father-daughter relationship continues to flourish, proving that family is the most important thing in life.
