Joy Behar recently celebrated her 82nd birthday, continuing to thrive with no signs of slowing down. Born on October 7, 1942, Behar has been a prominent figure on the daytime talk show “The View” since it first aired in 1997.
Although she briefly left the show in 2013, she returned two years later and has since expressed that she has no plans to retire.
Reflecting on her dismissal, Behar mentioned that she was glad to leave at the time but considered it a mistake on the network’s part.
Throughout her career, Behar has remained open about her personal life, including her experiences with marriage and family.
She’s been married twice and has one daughter, Eve, from her first marriage to Joseph Behar. Eve is now an artist, married to Alphonso Scotti, and they share a son named Luca, whom Behar often praises as a bright and talkative child.
In 2011, Behar married her longtime partner, Steve Janowitz, after nearly 30 years together.
The couple didn’t experience the typical “honeymoon phase,” given their long relationship, and Behar credits their lasting marriage to their ability not to take each other too seriously.
Behar celebrated her birthday on air last year, humorously noting that she wasn’t overly excited about the occasion, stating, “I’m just glad I’m alive.”
Her lively spirit and wit continue to make her a beloved figure, both on and off the screen, as she embraces life at 82.
