The concept of eternal love may seem daunting to some, especially the idea of being with one person for life. However, Laura and Matt are a couple who have successfully nurtured their love throughout the years.
Their story began in kindergarten.
“One of my earliest memories,” Matt recalls, “is standing before everyone at three years old and declaring that I would marry her one day.”
As kids, they spent a lot of time together.
Matt fondly remembers those early days:
“Laura taught me how to ride swings, draw hills, and eat grilled cheese ‘properly.’ We often reminisce about playing hide-and-seek, chasing each other around the playground, and staying awake during quiet time.”
He adds, “I loved Laura then, and I still love her now.”
Like many lifelong couples, they eventually drifted apart:
“When we started elementary school, we lost contact for about seven years, only seeing each other on the Christmas cards our families exchanged.”
In high school, a mutual friend brought them back together, and they quickly rekindled their connection:
“Two weeks later, we became boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Their relationship survived the challenges of growing up.
“We dated throughout high school, even though we went to different schools,” Matt shares.
This distance prepared them for the next phase: attending college in separate states.
Despite the challenges of a long-distance relationship, they remained committed.
On May 23, 2015, Matt proposed to Laura in the place where it all began—their kindergarten playground.
In a heartwarming celebration, they tied the knot, surrounded by friends and family.
