Abby sat at the kitchen island, feeling completely drained, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her baby, Logan, had been crying nonstop, leaving her feeling helpless. Seeing the worry etched on Abby’s face, her husband, Walter, approached and gently placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Concerned, Walter asked, “Honey, how long has Logan been crying like this?” Abby took a shaky breath and replied, “All day, Walter. I’ve tried everything—changing, feeding, bathing, burping—but nothing seems to work. I just don’t know what else to do.”
Moved by his wife’s struggle, Walter reassured her, “Don’t worry. We’ll figure this out together. Let’s go see if we can calm him down.” Relieved by Walter’s support, Abby let him guide her to Logan’s nursery. Logan’s cries grew louder, fraying Abby’s nerves as they stepped into the room.
Walter bent over the crib, speaking gently to Logan, “Hey, little guy. Looks like you and Mama had a tough day. Let’s see if Daddy can make it better.” But as he leaned closer, he noticed a small dictaphone nestled among the blankets, its red light blinking. Confused, he picked it up and muttered, “What is this doing here?”
Curious, Walter pressed play, and a strange voice echoed through the room. Abby and Walter’s eyes widened as they listened, uncovering a shocking secret. Realizing the truth behind Logan’s cries was darker than they’d imagined, they knew their lives would never be the same.
