A unique little girl named Milana arrived at our orphanage, with striking black hair and blue eyes. Polite and calm, Milana rarely cried and often remarked, “My mother taught me that,” showing just how much she missed her.
Her mother had met a Frenchman on a trip to Paris and, after a brief romance, brought Milana into the world. She considered her daughter the best “souvenir” from France, though she never told Milana’s father.
Milana’s grandmother, however, disapproved of the circumstances and was never close with her. Sadly, when Milana’s mother passed away from cancer, her grandmother abandoned her, which led to Milana joining us.
Milana was clearly raised with love, adapting confidently to the orphanage, holding herself with the poise of a true Parisian. Occasionally, she would ask when she might go home but took the uncertainty in stride, always hopeful.
Then, a miracle happened—our director managed to locate her father! We sent him a letter, and a few months later, he visited with an interpreter.
This was his first time meeting his daughter, unaware of her existence until now. Milana rushed to him, calling out “Daddy!” with pure joy.
After a lengthy adoption process, her father finally took her home. When they visited us later, Milana, now a beautifully dressed little fashionista, was thriving.
