106- and 105-Year-Olds Crowned World’s Oldest Married Couple. Here is How They Used to Look…

In Austin, Texas, John and Charlotte Henderson have touched hearts with their extraordinary journey. At 106 and 105 years old, they hold a combined age of 211 years, earning them the Guinness World Record for the oldest married couple.

This December 15, the Hendersons will celebrate 80 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love.

Their story began at the University of Texas in 1934, where they met in class. They married in 1939, beginning their life together with a modest $7 honeymoon stay.

John attributes their longevity and happiness to moderation. “We never overdo anything,” he shared in 2017, highlighting healthy habits like good nutrition, regular exercise, and plenty of rest.

John also holds the title of the oldest living former UT football player, and for 84 years, the couple has attended at least one game each season.

After retiring, they enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories together. Now residing in Longhorn Village, a senior community for UT alumni, they stay active and connected.

Their story reflects the power of commitment, shared values, and mutual respect. As they celebrate this incredible milestone, John and Charlotte Henderson inspire us all to embrace love, moderation, and the joy of life’s journey.
