In a recent Instagram post, Alves shared a heartwarming photo of McConaughey cutting their son’s hair, which quickly captured the hearts of fans. Known for keeping his personal life private, McConaughey’s rare glimpse into his family life was a sweet surprise.
Along with the picture, which showed a pile of Livingston’s blonde hair on the floor, Alves captioned it, “Then this happened.” The couple’s 14-year-old son, Levi, bears a striking resemblance to his famous father, and fans couldn’t help but notice.
The family enjoys a peaceful life in Texas. Alves shared with Fox News Digital how much they appreciate the Texas lifestyle, especially the values she grew up with, like attending church and the outdoors. “It’s been a great transition,” she said, reflecting on her move from Brazil.
McConaughey has also opened up about his parenting style. “Sometimes loving your kids means giving them just what they want. Other times it means tough love,” he explained to *Town & Country*. He emphasized that “No” takes more energy, but it’s often what’s needed.
Raising teenagers, he admits, is a different challenge. “You need more energy, more brainpower. It becomes about the mind as they try to find their identity,” McConaughey told *US Weekly*.
Recently, the couple celebrated their daughter Vida’s 13th birthday with a special guest, Woody Harrelson. McConaughey jokingly shared a photo of Harrelson questioning if the cake was vegan, which had everyone laughing.
McConaughey and Alves are also the founders of *Just Keep Livin’*, an organization dedicated to empowering high school students to lead active and healthy lives.
After the tragic school shooting that took the lives of 19 children, McConaughey became a vocal advocate for gun regulation.
