Elvis Presley’s 1962 Private Jet Got a New Owner… Check out Who it is!

Elvis Presley wasn’t just a musical icon known for his unforgettable voice and chart-topping hits—he was also a trendsetter in fashion, food, and even interior design.

While his love for blue suede shoes and famous peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches is well-known, his taste in personal aircraft often goes unnoticed.

In 1962, Elvis purchased a Lockheed JetStar, customizing it to reflect his lavish style. The jet’s interior boasted red velvet seats, rich carpeting, and elegant wooden paneling.

It was just one gem in his collection, which also included the Convair 880, nicknamed “Lisa Marie,” and another JetStar, “Hound Dog 2.” Together, these planes symbolized his love of flying and extravagant lifestyle.

After Elvis’s death in 1977, the Lockheed JetStar sat abandoned in Roswell, New Mexico, for over three decades.

Although the exterior’s red paint faded over time, the interior remains striking, featuring a cozy cabin, a kitchenette, and a velour-finished restroom—offering a glimpse of the King’s luxurious travel style.

In January, the jet went up for auction at the Florida Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car Sale, selling for $260,000. It’s a fitting tribute to Elvis Presley’s legacy—one of music, style, and unforgettable flair.
