Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis currently attend Lambrook School, but George is preparing for the next phase of his education.
After completing his first major exams in 2023, reports suggest he may follow in his mother Kate’s footsteps by attending Marlborough College at 13, rather than the traditional Eton College.
Kate, who studied at Marlborough from 1996 to 2000, excelled in sports and reportedly enjoyed her time there. The £59,000-a-year boarding school offers extensive facilities, including a swimming pool, athletic fields, and theatres.
For security reasons, George is expected to join C1 House, an all-boys residence.
Choosing Marlborough College over Eton marks a shift for the royal family. While Prince William and Prince Harry studied at Eton, Marlborough’s countryside location offers more privacy. The school also has royal ties, as Princess Eugenie is an alumna.
Previously, George and Charlotte attended Thomas’s Battersea in London, while Louis went to Willcocks Nursery in Kensington before the family’s move to Windsor in 2022.
Kate’s brother, James Middleton, has described his sisters as model students who excelled academically and helped teachers, in contrast to his mischievous school days. This next step continues the royal family’s evolving approach to education.
