“Thankfully, our family and the dogs are safe,” Patrick O’Neal shared in a video update.
Patrick O’Neal, son of the late actor Ryan O’Neal, revealed that his father’s Malibu home was reduced to “just ash and bricks” following the Pacific Palisades Fire.
The devastating wildfire, which began on January 7, has been deemed one of the costliest in U.S. history, burning over 23,700 acres and leaving thousands homeless.

Returning to the property on January 13, Patrick described the destruction, saying, “I think I’m standing in my dad’s bathroom. To be honest, I don’t even know what I’m looking for… there’s nothing left.”
In a heartfelt video shared days earlier, Patrick confirmed the family home was lost to the fire. “I send my prayers to those affected by these fires in Los Angeles County.
Thousands have lost their homes, including our family.” Grateful that his loved ones and pets were unharmed, he also urged people to support those in need.

Patrick shared glimpses of the devastation on Instagram, including a prized hockey stick signed by Wayne Gretzky that he managed to save during the evacuation. His half-sister, Tatum O’Neal, expressed her sadness on Threads, saying, “It’s the saddest ever… my father’s house is gone.”
The fire occurred just over a year after Ryan O’Neal’s death in December 2023, marking another loss for the family.
