Prince William reveals the unusual gift he once gave Kate Middleton: ‘She won’t let me live it down.’

During the early days of their relationship, Prince William gave Kate Middleton a rather unusual gift—a pair of binoculars.

Reflecting on the moment during an interview with BBC Radio Five Live, he confessed, “She’s never let me forget that.”

He humorously added, “It was early in the courtship… I think that sealed the deal. It didn’t go well, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.”

The couple first met in 2001 while studying at the University of St. Andrews and married a decade later in 2011 at Westminster Abbey.

Although the binoculars weren’t well-received back then, they might be a source of laughter now, especially given the royal family’s tradition of exchanging gag gifts during Christmas.

Prince Harry, in his memoir *Spare*, revealed some of these humorous exchanges. He once received a fish-shaped pen from Princess Margaret, while Kate reportedly gave him a “grow-your-own-girlfriend” kit.

Harry also gifted their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, a cheeky shower cap that read, “Ain’t life a b—h.”

The royal family gathers every year at Sandringham Estate to continue this lighthearted tradition. This year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were notably absent, but Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated with their children and extended family.
