Amy Schumer opens up about why she stopped using Ozempic, despite losing 30 pounds.
The comedian shared on *The Howard Stern Show* that she had a “horrible experience” with the Type 2 diabetes medication due to a gene that made her particularly prone to nausea.
Schumer explained that she struggled with severe sickness, leaving her too fatigued to even lift her head, despite the rapid weight loss.
Although the drug helped her shed pounds quickly, Schumer admitted it wasn’t sustainable for her. She highlighted how she couldn’t even play with her young son, Gene, because she felt too unwell.
The actress, who had previously revealed her Ozempic use in 2023, has encouraged other celebrities to be honest about their use of weight-loss drugs, stating that transparency is essential.
Schumer also shared that she has a genetic predisposition to nausea, which contributed to her difficulty with the drug.
Despite her rapid weight loss, she emphasized that the side effects were not worth it for her and expressed her decision to stop using it.
