Angelina Jolie explains her decision to sell the first photos of twins Vivienne and Knox…

Angelina Jolie recently opened up about her decision to sell the first photos of her twins, Knox and Vivienne, to People and Hello! magazines in 2008.

Speaking at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the actress explained that while it felt like an unusual choice, it was the safest option.

“It was a strange thing to do, but it was about protecting them,” she said, revealing that media interest had become a security concern.

“It was better to control the situation and ensure it was handled safely while also doing something positive with it.”

Jolie and her then-husband, Brad Pitt, donated the earnings from the photos to their Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The former couple shares six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Despite growing up around Hollywood, Jolie said her children have no interest in the spotlight. “They appreciate art, dance, and theater, but none of them are eager to be on screen,” she shared.

Following their 2016 split, some of Jolie’s children have legally dropped Pitt’s surname, further distancing themselves from their father.
