Hugh and his wife are parents to 12-year-old son John Mungo, as well as daughters Lulu Danger, nine, and Blue, six. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Hugh shared the story behind his daughters’ unique names.
He explained that Lulu’s middle name, Danger, was a spontaneous choice.
“We thought it would be fun for her to one day say, ‘My middle name is Danger,’ when she’s older,” Hugh said. When naming Blue, Hugh and his wife had trouble agreeing, so they turned to their son John for suggestions.
John initially proposed “Kevin,” inspired by the Minions, but eventually settled on “Blue,” which is Hugh’s favorite color.
Hugh also has two older children, Tabitha Xiao Xi, 13, and Felix Chang Hong, 11, from his previous relationship with Tinglan Hong.
Though Hugh tends to keep his family life private, he’s spoken before about how rewarding fatherhood is.
In a 2018 interview, he said, “It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. There’s just so much love around. Suddenly, you love someone more than yourself, which I never expected. And they love you back—it’s all just magical.”
