Debbii Dawson, a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician, gained fame on America’s Got Talent Season 17 with her unique, slow version of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” Her performance earned unanimous votes from all four judges, with Sofia Vergara praising her voice. Despite strong competition, Debbii was eliminated before the semi-finals, though her audition video quickly garnered over two million views on YouTube.
Born in Hutchinson, Minnesota, on March 10, 1996, Debbii was raised in a musical family. Her father, David, originally from India, and grandfather, who taught himself the organ using a pavement drawing, passed down their musical skills. Debbii’s mother, Sharon, met David while he was studying music in the U.S. She has a brother, Jonathan, a photographer, and a sister, Sitarah, also a singer, with whom Debbii performed regularly at local events.
Undeterred by her AGT elimination, Debbii continues to make music on her YouTube channel, which has grown to 20,000 subscribers. She plays guitar, keyboard, piano, and bongos and is known for her creative acoustic renditions of popular songs.
