Chaining the front or rear legs of horses is a prevalent practice in several regions of Romania. This prevents them from fleeing. Our FOUR PAWS vet, Ovidiu, spotted a horse in Letea (Danube delta). He immediately assisted in freeing the animal from his terrible bonds. As soon as Ovidiu releases the horse, it happily nuzzles him before galloping away.
The horse is one of the wild Hucul-bred horses that dwell in Letea’s Danube delta woodland, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Europe’s second biggest wetland.
