Size is not an impediment to friendship! A massive German shepherd and a little Chihuahua puppy demonstrated this. Shirley Zindler, who started Animal Rescue California, brought baby Bianca home and met them.
The chihuahua girl, who was just 12 cm tall and weighed less than a pound, was abandoned when her mother died after delivery.
Shelby, a 53-pound dog the lady had acquired as a puppy nearly three years ago, was blind, yet she recognized the arrival of a new dog right away. Shelby sat quietly nearby as the owner fed Bianca from a bottle.
The enormous dog is quite patient with his little companion, who has an explosive disposition. Shelby has been bitten by the little one on occasion. The dog then gently pulls his companion away.
“It’s really a one-of-a-kind couple,” Shirley explains.
She’s never seen animals with such disparities in personality and size become pals.
Bianca is already looking for a new place to live. As a result, the pair will have to be separated shortly. Shelby, on the other hand, will not be left alone. She will become a mother to another dog in need. Shirley’s front porch was invaded by a swarm of newborn infants.
I believe they’ll both be well. They’re like kids at summer camp; they spend some time together but will soon have to part ways. But I hope their friendship doesn’t stop there and that they may see one another again.
