A missing dog was discovered stuck on a river bank, but her rescue mission took an ugly turn…

Johnny Rickman, the elderly dog warden of Lawrence County, Kentucky, got a complaint about a lost dog called Ginger.

Johnny searched feverishly for Ginger, but she was nowhere to be seen. After a few days, Johnny eventually spotted Ginger wailing away on a river bank. She was entirely engulfed in the muck.

Johnny enlisted the assistance of a buddy and slid down the icy hill to Ginger. He stroked the terrified dog and started releasing her paws from the filthy clutches. Johnny finally managed to raise her up and secure her in his arms. But soon as he started climbing back to safety, he stumbled on the slick terrain and collapsed.

Despite the little setback, Johnny did not give up on the rescue. He’d damaged his knees, but he pulled himself to a patch of somewhat firm ground. He bore the ache in his legs and supported himself with his hands as he climbed. Johnny valiantly brought Ginger to safety after a difficult climb!

Ginger was soaked in dirt and very dehydrated, yet she embraced Johnny to express her gratitude for saving her life. The dog has been taken to the Tri-County Animal Clinic, where she will rest for a few days before rejoining her family. We greatly applaud Johnny for saving the defenseless puppy with such honesty and passion!
