This elderly woman, living in Melbourne, Australia, shares her self-composed music with passersby, performing on the streets without asking for any payment.
“I wouldn’t achieve the same effect in a concert hall, as only a certain type of audience attends there. What I play is meant for everyone,” Natalie explains.
Once, Natalie’s life was vastly different, marked by promise and talent. She attended prestigious music schools, starting at a convent-run institution, and at 15, won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London. The piece she plays in the video was composed when she was just 13, a time when her teachers believed her remarkable talent should never go to waste.

Natalie dreamed of a family and paused her career to marry and care for her children. However, tragedy struck. She lost two daughters, one in a car accident and the other to illness. Her husband passed away soon after, and her son, suffering from nerve damage due to medication, became disabled. Unable to support him, he relied on welfare, and Natalie became homeless.
Since 2004, a Melbourne hotel has supported her by providing a room in exchange for weekly performances. Despite declining health, Natalie continues to play, her music conveying a deep, emotional story that resonates with all who hear it.
