Every day, police officers, emergency workers, and first responders risk their lives to ensure the safety of our communities, tirelessly fulfilling their duties, often for extended hours.
After a long shift, four police officers from Louisiana decided to stop at an Outback Steakhouse in Slidell for a meal.
Unbeknownst to them, a pleasant surprise awaited at the end of their dinner, as reported by Fox8. Everything seemed routine until they received their bill, which revealed an unexpected and touching gesture.
Zoë Rao, their server, shared her fondness for the officers, calling them “the sweetest guys.” Meanwhile, manager Arline Wood, with the company for 18 years, recognized the officers as regulars. Together, she and Zoë decided to express their appreciation.
When the officers went to pay their $67 tab, they were shocked to discover their meal had been fully covered. Along with the complimentary bill, a heartfelt note was written on the receipt, which read, “Be safe!” and “Thank y’all for y’all’s service! Enjoy y’all’s meal on us!”
Arline praised the officers, stating, “They care about the community. They care about everybody. They’re just great guys.” In return for the kind gesture, the officers left a generous tip.
The Slidell Police Department later shared a photo of the receipt on Facebook, thanking the Outback employees for their kindness.
