You won’t be able to hold back tears regarding Michael Schumacher’s condition 10 years after his accident…

December 29th marked the tenth anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s devastating skiing accident. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion continues to suffer from serious after-effects, leaving him unable to move or communicate.

The accident occurred on December 29th, 2013, when Schumacher fell while skiing in Méribel, Savoie, during a family vacation shortly after retiring from F1 racing. His head struck a rock, causing his helmet to shatter on impact.

Although conscious when rescuers arrived, Schumacher was quickly transported to the hospital, where he spent months in a coma. The Grenoble University Hospital reported that he suffered severe head trauma, requiring urgent neurosurgery.

When Schumacher woke up six months later, his life had dramatically changed.

His family remains private about his condition, keeping him away from the public eye. He is unable to walk, stand, or communicate and is cared for 24/7 by a dedicated medical team at his home in Switzerland.

Formula 1 commentator Gaëtan Vigneron described Schumacher as a “prisoner of his own body.” His younger brother Ralf shared with local media, “I miss the old Michael. Life can be so unfair sometimes; he was very lucky throughout his life.”
