Every day, police officers and first responders put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe. Regardless of the hour or the length of their shifts, their dedication is unwavering.
After a long shift, four Louisiana police officers stopped at the Outback Steakhouse in Slidell for dinner, unaware they were about to receive a heartwarming surprise.
According to Fox8, everything seemed routine. Their meals were served without issue, and the evening unfolded as expected—until they received their bill.
The officers were astonished to see their $67 tab had been covered, accompanied by a heartfelt note on the receipt. It read, “Be safe!” and, “Thank y’all for y’all’s service! Enjoy y’all’s meal on us!”
Zoë Rao, the waitress who served them, described the officers as “the sweetest guys.”
Along with manager Arline Wood, who has worked at Outback for 18 years, she devised the thoughtful gesture to show appreciation. “They care about the community and deserve recognition,” Arline explained.
Grateful for the kindness, the officers left a generous tip. Later, the Slidell Police Department shared the story on Facebook, honoring the Outback employees for their touching act of gratitude.
