Matt Dodd, a 68-year-old contestant, mesmerized Ireland’s Got Talent with a stirring rendition of Tom Jones’ “I (Who Have Nothing).” Clad in a sharp suit, Dodd’s rich, timeless voice and captivating stage presence left both judges and the audience in awe.

Though not a professional singer, Dodd’s commanding performance and emotional delivery built to a powerful finale, making his audition a standout moment. The video has since garnered over 8.1 million views on the show’s YouTube channel.

Dodd, who works at a Ballyfermot adult day care center, revealed that he often sings for seniors during morning bus rides. Encouraged by one of his grandchildren at a family lunch, he decided to audition for the talent show.

Judge Louis Walsh praised his incredible voice, wondering why he wasn’t already a star, while Michelle Visage called his talent exceptional.

In the semi-final, Dodd demonstrated his versatility with a heartfelt performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Love Changes Everything.”
