The mom tiger panics when her cubs do not breathe after birth

Parental instincts are one of the miracles in the world. And we’re not just talking about humans here; we’re talking about all species. The birthing process of a tiger intrigues us in this particular situation.

The Australia Zoo’s employees got heartbreaking footage of a Sumatran tiger giving birth. Things did not go as planned for Kaitlyn, the mother tiger who gave birth to twin pups. Her cubs are still unconscious after birth. To everyone’s surprise, her motherly instincts instantly kicked in and her twin cubs began breathing again.

Because the Sumatran tiger is one of the world’s most endangered animals, the entire procedure was thoroughly monitored. The world’s surviving Sumatran tiger population is estimated to be no more than 600. When the Sumatran female is ready to have a baby, zookeepers must be there to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both mother and baby. If anything really goes wrong, the crew is prepared to act at any time to save the cubs and their mom’s lives.

Because Kaitlyn was about to become a mother for the first time, the delivery process needed to be closely observed. To everyone’s amazement, she acted as though she had vast expertise. She helped her infants breathe on their own in order to open their lungs. As a consequence, we can’t wait to see them mature!
