This Baby Elephant Was Found Passing away After Being Rejected by His Herd. Here is What People Decided to Do

The Thula Rhinocerous Orphanage in South Africa houses a variety of endangered wild creatures, including rhinos, leopards, zebras, and elephants, to mention a few.

This article is about Ellie, a newborn elephant who was discovered in a critical condition after being abandoned by his herd.

Ellie was born with several illnesses that severely limited his chances of life. The staff at the refuge didn’t think he’d be able to make it on his own, so they fed and nursed him for several days and nights until his health improved!

Elephants, on the other hand, are known to be incredibly social animals who cannot survive outside of their herd. So, even after Ellie improved his health, he became a clinically sad and sluggish newborn with little desire to live.

Because his herd did not accept him, the workers used a prior remedy and also sniffer pet, a German Guard named Duma, to help him find relief.

In this video, we discover how Duma helped Ellie live despite all odds. Under Duma’s loving and compassionate influence, Ellie developed a permanent spark.

Ellie still has a long road to recovery ahead of him, but with Duma by his side, that road doesn’t seem so lonely any longer!

To observe Ellie and Duma’s important friendship, watch the video clip below!
