People who performed such things to animals were motivated by a desire to help wild creatures. They are simply concerned with the safety of the wild animal and not with their own personal benefit.
So, the man who was carrying the elephant on his shoulders was a forest guard, and his station was near Mettupalayam, a tiny city in India surrounded by forests.
This event occurred in 2017, when a guy called Palanichamy Sarathkumar was coming back home from work after a night shift. He got a call about a minor incident nearby the Vanabhadra Kaliamman temple at the time.
A female elephant was reported to be obstructing the road near the Vanabhadra Kaliamman shrine. He got there with his coworkers without spending any time.
They let up a few firecrackers to entice the elephant back into the jungle. They then went on the hunt for other elephants. They discovered a newborn elephant trapped in a little ditch.
The elephant baby was exhausted and confused. Palanichamy aided the elephant by removing a stone that was in the path of the animal’s exit.
Sarathkumar recognized that the female elephant along the road was its mother, and that she was searching for her youngster, who was unable to be seen. As a result, the work became extremely tough for him because the calf was unable to walk.
They intended to take the calf to its mother, who they suspected was on the opposite side of the river. They were aware that elephant moms are very protective of their offspring. Sarathkumar opted to carry the elephant on his shoulders at the moment because he did not want to endanger the lives of others.
Palanichamy stands 6 feet tall and weighs 80 kilograms, but he lifted a 100 kilogram calf for 50 meters. Following that, he kept the kid by the water hole in the hopes that the mother would come and find him.
They returned, only to discover the calf was vanished when they arrived the next morning. Both the calf’s and a larger elephant’s pug markings were discovered. As a result, it was evident that the infant had found its way back to its mother.
