Drew Hamilton was camping beside Alaska’s McNeil River to photograph the rich flora and animals of the magnificent habitat. When a nice grizzly bear quietly went up to him to keep him company, he got considerably more than he asked for!
According to Drew, the massive bear had just awoken from a nap as the rest of his grizzly family was playing downstream. For some reason, Drew’s relaxed body language as he took in the scenery piqued the bear’s interest. The bear went up to Drew’s chair and started staring out at the bountiful environment with delight!
The bear sat down on the grass alongside Drew seconds later. They observed the other bears playing by the riverbank together, and at that time, they both enjoyed a wonderful type of togetherness! After a little pause, the bear wished his new human friend goodbye and returned to his family at the river.
It’s fascinating to see the bear’s calm and carefree manner with Drew, whom he obviously regards as non-threatening. The bear may be a dangerous predator, yet he treats Drew as if he were a fellow soul. Their naive meeting is too beautiful to describe!
